The provider needed a fully managed repair and maintenance program. We took care of it.

The Problem
Our customer is a provider of 3D-printed medical simulation equipment related to colonoscopy procedures. With doctors being extremely busy and often unable to attend live product demonstrations, the company began sending demo units of their medical simulation equipment for hands-on testing.
With hundreds of these devices sent per year to hospitals and medical facilities nationwide, the company realized it could no longer keep up with the repair and maintenance of the fleet. The medical simulation provider also wanted to reallocate as many of their resources to more strategic tasks such as sales and relationship-building rather than equipment repair.
Historically, the company had rented space throughout the U.S. to store and repair equipment. A more centralized solution was needed to eliminate the excessive costs and logistical challenges posed by operating so many facilities and managing so many devices across the country.
The Solution
The company began exploring options for a repair partner in 2018. While outside the scope of our traditional focus on enterprise mobility, POS and payment technologies, TRG was happy to develop a customized program to meet the medical simulation company’s requirements and provide them with immediate value. We began storing the equipment in our warehouse and providing ongoing managed logistics and repair services as needed. (Our expert handyman Marty even singlehandedly repaired one of the device’s expensive cases!)
When a demo unit is required, we ship the device to the necessary location. When the doctor is finished testing the equipment, it is returned to our facility for inspection, repair and storage. Our expert team handles both part replacement as well as general repair for each device. Not only do we manage the logistics to and from medical facilities, but we also coordinate shipments for events where the medical simulation equipment will be showcased.
The Result
By providing the medical simulation equipment company with a centralized solution for storage and repair, we’ve not only been able to help them save time and money on device management, but we’ve also been able to support their sales process. We invite our customer to leverage our corporate headquarters in Westlake, Ohio for customer meetings and live equipment demonstrations.
Today, the company is able to spend more time on sales and business development initiatives knowing that maintenance and repair of their medical simulation equipment is handled efficiently and safely. If your organization is considering options for a hardware repair partner, our team is here to help. Contact TRG today to learn how we can help.
