The Problem
Our customer is a software developer that has developed a technology solution for parks and recreation applications. With more than 20 years of experience and over 5 million transactions processed per year, the platform helps its users improve overall operations, grow revenue and ease transaction flow.
Historically, the company’s sales opportunities had been limited by its lack of hardware support - customers preferred to work with platforms that offered a more comprehensive, all-in-one solution. To ensure it would be able to better compete in the marketplace and quote larger opportunities, the company knew it needed to find a hardware partner to support its efforts. In addition, because many of its customer locations are located in remote areas, the company realized that it could differentiate itself by providing wireless connectivity services.
The Solution
The software developer chose to partner with TRG for these efforts — not only because of our broad range of capabilities but also because of our Ohio-based headquarters, near where its newest opportunity had arisen. This was favorable to its customer as it ensured we would be able to maintain a next-day SLA in the event that any onsite support was required.
For this first deal and eventually many others, our team worked closely with the software developer to design and execute the POS hardware and wireless connectivity strategy. We first evaluated each location’s connectivity via onsite surveys and provided hardware cabling as well as LTE SIM cards, ensuring that each location would have the infrastructure needed to optimize operations.
We also provided all hardware needed for the program, including payment terminals, touchscreen monitors, barcode scanners and laser printers. All devices are staged, kitted and deployed by our team - first configured with all required software and settings and then shipped to the correct location, ensuring it arrives ready to use out-of-the-box. Additionally, we provided key injection (a critical service that gives each device in the program a unique ID) for each payment terminal and traveled to each destination to manage the installation of all systems.
On an ongoing basis, we provide the customer with spares pool management, ensuring that a working device is sent to locations that have sent a device in for repair so the impact on operations is minimized. We also provide all media and consumables.
The Result
Thanks to our hardware support, the software developer has been able to pursue and win larger opportunities. We look forward to continuing the partnership for many years to come.
